Dr. De Filippo graduated in 1992 at Federico II University of Naples and completed his residency in the School of Pediatrics in 1996. He obtained the Diplôme Inter-Universitaire d’Endocrinologie et Diabétologie Pédiatriques at the University of Paris “René Descartes” Medical School, 2003-2004.
He was research fellow at the Service d’Endocrinologie et Diabétologie Pédiatrique, Hôpital Saint
Vincent de Paul, Paris in 1994 and then at INSERM U342 again in Paris in 1995 and 1999-2000.
In 2000-2002 he was Senior Pediatrician and Clinical Researcher,at the Service d’Endocrinologie
et Diabétologie Pédiatrique, Hôpital Saint Vincent de Paul and INSERM U561, Paris, France.
In 2007 he was visiting physician at the Service d’Endocrinologie Pédiatrique, Hôpital Robert
Debré, Paris, France.
Presently, Dr. De Filippo is Senior Paediatrician and Chief of the Unit of Pediatric Endocrinology,
Division of Paediatrics, G. Rummo Hospital, Benevento, Italy. He is professor of Pediatrics at the
University of Foggia Medical School since 2002. His major clinical and scientific interest is the management of children and adolescents with endocrine and metabolic diseases including diabetes mellitus. He has ongoing research projects on metabolic diseases of bone, immunology of type 1 diabetes, physiopathology of puberty.
Dr. De Filippo is member of several scientific societies and author of numerous publications in peer-review international journals.
