Graduated as a laboratory technician at the 2nd University of Naples. She has been working since 1983 at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, Federico II University of Naples Medical School., where she is involved in the performance of standard and advanced analytical techniques, including ELISA for the measurement of adipose tissue cytokines and methods for genetic epidemiology (including DNA preparation, PCR and the investigation of RFL polymorphisms). Se is also in charge of the laboratory quality control monitoring systems.
Her research activity has concerned the fields of haemostasis, cell cultures, lipid and lipoprotein metabolism, hypertension and genetic cardiovascular epidemiology.
She has co-authored numerous publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
